Introduction An opportunity exists for a Junior Debtors Clerk to support a busy credit control function within a high-volume financial environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is eager to gain hands-on experience in debtor administration, reconciliations, and account query resolution.
The successful candidate will play a key support role in assisting the credit team by preparing documentation, reconciling problematic accounts, and ensuring accurate account records.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work through problematic debtor accounts and identify discrepancies Perform basic reconciliations on outstanding accounts Gather, prepare, and organise supporting documentation for customer queries Assist in preparing account files to support payment resolution processes Follow up on outstanding or arrear payments Conduct data capturing and maintain accurate records of debtor accounts Act as a support resource to the credit control team Perform general administrative and clerical duties as required Ensure all documentation is properly filed and audit-ready
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) is essential Accounting qualification or studies advantageous (not compulsory) Graduate or entry-level candidate preferred Basic understanding of accounting or debtor principles required Strong administrative and data capturing skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong follow-up and organisational ability Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Must be willing to perform hands-on administrative “runner” duties
Package & Remuneration
Salary: R8,000 – R10,000 per month 3-month fixed term contract
