Introduction Our client is looking for the following candidate to join the core central IRE/LRE team within the Group IT Hub South Africa, serving as the strategic process owner for the entire global Group's operations infrastructure.
This critical role oversees the governance and steering of fundamental operational disciplines, including Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, and Request Fulfillment.
By managing core ITSM services, baseline foundation data, and overarching Ops KPI reporting frameworks, you will ensure high availability, platform stability, and optimal performance across international manufacturing and corporate networks.
ITSM & ITIL Expert Governance: Mastery of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL 4 frameworks, with extensive practical experience steering global operational frameworks, managing overarching problem management tickets, and setting governance compliance standards. Infrastructure & Cloud Acumen: Strong fundamental knowledge across enterprise core infrastructure layers—including server virtualization, complex networking, storage architectures (NAS/SAN/Archive), databases (Oracle, Postgres), middleware platforms (Web, SAP, MQS), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Strategic Incident Crisis Leadership: Proven capability to independently moderate high-stakes troubleshooting crisis meetings during major escalations, investigate vague or unclear cross-system issues, and design and coordinate worldwide IT emergency exercises.
Who This Role Would Suit:
This role is ideal for an expert-level Senior Operations Engineer, ITIL Process Manager, or Infrastructure Specialist who thrives at the absolute center of global system recovery and high-availability platform steering. It is a perfect fit for a bilingual, German-speaking technical professional who possesses a deep, systems-level understanding of traditional data center infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, databases) combined with modern cloud topologies, and who wants to command the operational governance that keeps a massive manufacturing footprint ticking.
You are a completely independent, highly resilient professional who handles high-pressure technical crises with absolute calm, using persuasive influence to align diverse engineering squads and senior global managers during complex system failures.
You are someone who enjoys the deep investigative work required to unearth root causes across multi-layered software ecosystems, and you are equally comfortable establishing strict process governance standards as you are mentoring junior engineers.
If you are looking to take definitive ownership of disaster recovery frameworks and operational metrics inside a fast-paced global DevOps hub, this position provides an elite stage to demonstrate your leadership.
