Position Overview

A leading agricultural enterprise in Stellenbosch is seeking a highly organised, technically skilled Workshop Manager to oversee the full maintenance function of its machinery, vehicles, and equipment. This role requires strong leadership, hands‑on mechanical expertise, and the ability to manage a busy workshop environment with precision and accountability.

 

Duties & Responsibilities  

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity. Oversee maintenance, repairs, and servicing of agricultural machinery, tractors, implements, and fleet vehicles. Implement preventative maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards. Lead, supervise, and mentor workshop staff and artisans. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service history. Manage procurement of parts, tools, and consumables. Ensure minimal downtime of equipment during peak agricultural seasons. Liaise with farm management and operational teams to prioritise maintenance needs. Monitor workshop budget, cost control, and inventory levels.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification  

Requirements

Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or Senior Technician within the agriculture industry. Strong mechanical and technical knowledge of agricultural equipment. Excellent leadership, planning, and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver’s licence; additional machinery certifications advantageous. Strong administrative and reporting abilities.
